The building was constructed in the 1920s. In its early years part of it served as a pharmacy and part as a residence. After 1925 it was converted into a mosque under the leadership of Hacı Osman, who had come from the village of Emirli.

In 1947 the minaret was added with the contribution of a philanthropist. On 4 July 2003 the Edirne Conservation Board registered the building by decision no. 7697.

The General Directorate of Foundations began a restoration on 5 May 2008. The work took about seven months, and the mosque reopened for worship in the early months of 2009.
