The KAFD Grand Mosque is a Friday mosque in the al-Aqeeq neighbourhood of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the King Abdullah Financial District. The 6,103-square-metre building stands on a large urban plaza that serves as a public space and, when needed, as an outdoor prayer area. Its column-free interior can hold 1,500 worshippers across two levels: a large central hall and a mezzanine. The mosque was designed by Omrania and Associates, an architecture and engineering firm based in Riyadh, and its form is inspired by the desert rose.
