The Islamic Society of Boston (ISB) is an American nonprofit organization guided by Islamic principles, and it operates two mosques in the Boston area. One is the ISB mosque at 204 Prospect Street in Cambridge. The other is the ISB Cultural Center (ISBCC) at 100 Malcolm X Boulevard in Roxbury, which sources describe as the largest mosque in New England. The ISBCC draws about 1,700 people to Friday prayers each week, while the Cambridge mosque draws about 300. Both centers run daily, weekly and annual programs, including Arabic and English classes on religious and secular subjects, a weekend religious school for children, holiday programs, trips and summer camps, and classes about Islam for new Muslims and non-Muslims. On major Islamic holidays, ISB works with local mosques to hold several prayer sessions that together accommodate roughly 10,000 worshippers.
