The White Mosque stands in Nazareth, in Israel's Northern District, in the Harat al-Ghama quarter, also called the Mosque Quarter, at the centre of the Old Market area. Its pencil-shaped minaret, cream-coloured walls and green trim and dome are an example of the Ottoman architecture found throughout the city. Arabic sources describe it as the oldest surviving mosque in Nazareth and count it among the notable Ottoman-era buildings of the Galilee.
