The Tombul Mosque (Tombul Camii in Turkish, Tombul Dzhamia in Bulgarian) stands in the city of Shumen in northeastern Bulgaria, at Georgi S. Rakovski Street 21. It is also known as the Şerif Halil Pasha Mosque. It is regarded as the largest mosque in Bulgaria and one of the largest in the Balkans. Built in the Ottoman architectural style in the eighteenth century, it is counted among the most important examples of Ottoman-era Islamic architecture in the country. It is in use as a mosque again and is included in the list of 100 national tourist sites compiled by the Bulgarian Tourist Union.

Construction began in 1740 and, according to the building inscription, was completed in 1744/1745. Our record gives 1744 as the year of construction.

During the communist period in Bulgaria (1944–1989) the mosque served as a museum. It now functions as a mosque once more.
