The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Surakarta, also known as Solo, stands in Central Java, Indonesia, at Jl. Mentawai 2. It is a smaller replica of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The mosque is named in honour of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the UAE. Its construction is reported to have cost US$20 million, equivalent to about Rp 313.1 billion. In Indonesian it is called Masjid Raya Sheikh Zayed.
