The Chawkbazar Shahi Mosque, also known as the Chawk Mosque, stands in the Chawkbazar area of Dhaka's old city, south of the present-day city centre. Our records describe its architectural style as Mughal. The mosque was built on a raised platform, and its roof originally carried three domes. Today it has become a multi-storey building.

The mosque was built in 1676 by the subahdar Shaista Khan. It is called "Shahi" in reference to its founder.
