The Great Mosque of Tlemcen is a congregational mosque in the city of Tlemcen, Algeria. According to the record it was commissioned by Yusuf ibn Tashfin and founded in 1082 during the Almoravid period. Its original design was austere, and the building was modified and embellished several times in later periods. Its mihrab and dome are regarded as important surviving evidence of Almoravid architecture. Major extensions were carried out in the Zayyanid era, when the minaret was also completed.

The mosque was founded in 1082 under the Almoravids, and the record names Yusuf ibn Tashfin as its patron. Its initially austere design was altered and decorated on several occasions in later periods.
During the reign of the Zayyanid ruler Yaghmurasen ibn Zayyan the mosque was expanded several times. A Zayyanid minaret and a number of libraries were added to the complex. Mausoleums and a Zayyanid royal cemetery were also built alongside it.
Under French colonial administration the mosque's original area was reduced.

The Great Mosque of Tlemcen (Arabic: الجامع الكبير لتلمسان, romanized: el-Jemaa el-Kebir litilimcen) is a mosque in Tlemcen, Algeria. It was founded and first built in 1082, and modified and embellished several times afterwards. It is considered one of the most important examples of architecture under the Almoravid dynasty.
