The Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque stands on the eastern side of Naqsh-e Jahan Square in Isfahan, Iran, opposite the Ali Qapu Palace. It is a significant work of Safavid architecture. Shah Abbas I commissioned it in honour of Lutfallah Maysi al-Amili, a Twelver Shi'ite scholar of the period, and the mosque bears his name. The record gives Bahaeddin Amili as its architect. Together with the square and its surrounding buildings, the mosque is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it is also on the Iran National Heritage List.
