The Marocaine Mosque, known in Arabic as Masjid al-Maghrib and in French as Mosquée Marocaine, is a Sunni mosque in the south-central part of Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania. It is also referred to as the Grande Mosquée de La Capitale. The mosque stands south of the Ould Abas Mosque, close to the Marocaine Market and next to the Moroccan Cultural Centre. Our records describe its architectural style as Maghrebi. Administratively it lies in the Sebkha district of the Nouakchott-Ouest region.
