Kauman Great Mosque, known in Javanese as Mesjid Gedhe Kauman, is the Great Mosque of the Yogyakarta Sultanate in Indonesia. It stands on the island of Java, to the west of the North Alun-alun, the public square of the Yogyakarta Kraton. Its official name is Mesjid Gedhe Kauman Karaton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat. The mosque is located in the Prawirodirjan area of Gondomanan district, off Gang Monumen Syuhada in the city of Yogyakarta. Our records give 1773 as the year of construction.
