Fethiye Mosque stands in the Çarşamba quarter of Fatih, Istanbul, inside the old walls of Constantinople. In the Byzantine period it was the Church of the Theotokos Pammakaristos ("the All-Blessed Mother of God"), dedicated to Mary and counted among the best-known Byzantine churches of the city. The building combines Byzantine and Ottoman architectural features and is listed as a cultural property requiring protection. Its side chapel (parekklesion) is regarded as one of the major examples of Palaiologan architecture in Constantinople, and it preserves the largest body of Byzantine mosaics in Istanbul after the Hagia Sophia and the Chora Church.

The building served as the Byzantine Pammakaristos Church. In 1591 it was converted into a mosque and took the name Fethiye, meaning "conquest".
Since 1949 the side chapel has functioned as a museum, so the complex today has the character of both a mosque and a museum.
