The Abu'l-Fida Mosque stands in the Bab al-Jisr quarter of Hama, Syria, on the northern bank of the Orontes (al-Asi) River. It was built by Abu'l-Fida, the ruler of Hama, and is also known locally as the Jami' al-Dahsha and the Jami' al-Hayaya. The façade of the prayer hall is decorated with mother-of-pearl mosaic in ornamental patterns. Inside, a paired marble column stands between the two southern windows; at its four corners eight snakes intertwine to form a braided design. According to the available account, this carving is why people came to call it the Mosque of the Snakes (al-Hayaya). The complex also includes the founder's mausoleum.

The mosque was built in Hama in 727 AH, corresponding to 1326 CE, by Abu'l-Fida. Inscriptions at the site record the date of construction and the lineage of its founder.

Abu'l-Fida also had a mausoleum built for himself to the north of the mosque, covered by a dome and accompanied by an octagonal minaret.

The mosque suffered some damage during the 1982 Hama massacre, and again in 2011 and 2012.
