The Al-Bakiriyya Mosque is an Ottoman building in the historic centre of Sanaa, the capital of Yemen. Our record gives its construction year as 1596, while the sources date it to around 1596–97 or to 1597. The mosque was built in Sanaa around 1596–97 by Hasan Pasha, the Ottoman governor of Yemen. After the Ottomans were driven out of Yemen in 1626, it fell into disrepair. When the Ottomans retook Sanaa in 1878, the mosque was fully restored.
